More acoustic limitations in the clubs of Ibiza? It may soon be possible.

The Town Council of Sant Josep should debate this Thursday a new  ordinance that could oblige to the leisure places to install an automatic control system.

The news was reported by the main Ibiza dailies, as Periodico de Ibiza (click here)

In this way, leisure facilities should also  install pass sensors to be able to count the number of users, even if  it should concern just the locations with authorized charges higher than 200 people, so not only disco clubs but also bars, beach clubs and  – generally – entertainment places could be involved.

They must also place, in visible areas, a poster indicating the maximum capacity and designate a person responsible for the control of the capacity, so if this legislation will be  approved, the consequences could be important.

Anyway leisure places could  have a year to adapt to this ordinance, so not necessarily by summer 2017.

It could be possible  to oblige the  leisure establishments included in article 26 of the Tourism Law that have music to have acoustic limiters ( actually the current regulations only envisage as the area of action the area of Platja d’en Bossa). 

For many years the issue of acoustic limiters is the subject of political debate.

We will see what will happen and, given the importance of the theme, Ibiza by night will update.
