After two years IMS Ibiza  finally is ready for the great return!

IMS IBIZA (International Music Summit), the leading platform for industry, culture and education in electronic music, returns for its thirteenth edition in Ibiza this April following a two-year hiatus. One of the first major global industry gatherings to take place since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, IMS Ibiza Summit 2022 will reunite the entire ecosystem of the genre for three-days of purposeful conversation, connection, and celebration. The summit takes place from April 27-29 at Destino Pacha Ibiza Resort.

 

The summit today announces the full three-day schedule co-hosted by Pete Tong & Jaguar (both from BBC Radio 1).  Bringing together a newly formatted summit, adopting a no-panel policy for the first time.  Highlighting best practice and delivering keynotes, presentations, conversations, workshops and sessions with industry thought-leaders, all exploring the most important topics and themes facing our industry today and working towards re-building following the devastating impact of the global pandemic.  

 

At this new location Destino, the summit is divided into 10 new and very distinct areas including the Summit Suite, the outdoor Destino Arc StageIMS College Powered by Beatport, Microsoft Surface and Point Blank Music SchoolAreté VillaCherry Pool SuiteIMS Tech XYouTube Shorts LoungePixelynx SuiteParty Degenerates Suite and The Eco Lounge.

 

Highlights from Day 1 Weds April 27th include the IMS Business Report 2022, presented by David Boyle (IMS / Audience Strategies; Business Report Author; UK). It is the official IMS analysis of key facts from all the major players in the industry, plus the highly anticipated annual industry valuation figure. In addition Robb McDaniels (Beatport; CEO; UK/USA) will give the opening keynote address on how the Electronic Music sector is alive and ready is to roar back to life after the last few years of macro shocks to the global community.

 

There will be an Interview with Nastia (Artist; Nechto; Ukraine) ‘Uniting For Ukraine discussing and sharing the effects of recent worlds events and how the music community can rally and assist. There will be a keynote address from  TikTok’s Ole Obermann (TikTok; Global Head of Music; UK) who will lift the lid on the phenomenal success of the platform. Further there will be the results of a specially commissioned Survey Report by The Jaguar Foundation and Sony Music UK Social Justice Fund on ‘Balancing Gender In UK Electronic Music’ and a highly anticipated keynote Interview with Lyor Cohen (YouTube & Google; Global Head of Music) In Conversation’ with Pete Tong examining the progression of music monetisation, distribution and visualization.

 

Additionally on Day 1 you will find a full schedule of events at IMS College, Powered by Beatport, Microsoft Surface and Point Blank Music School. The Art Of Areté wellness programme at The Areté Villa and a full schedule of evening events on and off site, including networking drinks presented by Ultra RecordsIMS Legends Dinner in honour of Simon Dunmore of Defected and the official IMS opening party at Lio with Nora En Pure.

 

Day 2 Thursday 28th April brings us all things digitally related with Pixelynx Presents The Future Of Music: WEB3 & Metaverse Day, encompassing a full introduction and overview from visionary Web3 and Metaverse expert, Inder Phull.

Encompassing the introduction of cutting edge tech companies, PixelynxRCRDSHPAlma or MilesThe Sandbox – a blockchain based 3D open world game, EQ ExchangeVoltaEmanateAudius, Sensorium and Zora. As well as explanatory windows into, Tokens, Investment, Gaming and ExperiencesDAO’s and a look into the legal landscape and security of this new frontier from leading industry firm Reed Smith.

There will also be a film screening – ‘Off the Record’ chronicles the rise of techno through the eyes and ears of one man: DJ and musician Laurent Garnier over a 30-year career.

 

Outside you will find Ten Years of AFEM and a chance to meet the team, Aslice on ‘Equalising The Disparity Between DJs and Producers’IMS College presents ‘Beyond Jpegs’ – a practical workshop to design NFT’s around new music. ‘In Conversation’ with CiCi and Alex Kennon. There will also be Lady Of The House & SHESAID.SO who will bring forward an innovative approach exploring the power of networking and peer to peer support, in particular for women. All with continued programming and focus on wellness with an interview with Kurosh Nasseri.

 

The Final Day 3, Friday April 29th includes YouTube & TikTok best practice, Brian Eno ‘In Conversation‘ with Pete Tong, a keynote interview with legendary French DJ Laurent Garnier, a case study on building an engaged community of Live fans from DICE and BICEPSkiddle Presents Surviving 20 years In The Events Industry and a look into the concepts of Ibiza’s newest club residencies revealing what is in store across the summer in Ibiza 2022. There will also be a full day of scheduled events and workshops at IMS College (TBA).

 

All culminating in the grand finale IMS DALT VILA specially broadcast by YouTube & Beatport LIVE ‘STREAM FOR UKRAINE’, a spectacular event and crisis fundraiser.
