Ibiza by Night meets Fedde Le Grand: the interview!

Ibiza by Night meets Fedde Le Grand (in the picture below) for an interview!
Recently the Dutch  producer Fedde Le Grand teamed up with rocketing artist 22Bullets for a truly intriguing rework of Nancy Sinatra’s iconic hit ‘Bang Bang’ – out now via Signatune Records [Sony Music] (read here)…and here you have the interview!
IBN: Fedde Le Grand, let’s talk about your new single ‘Bang Bang’! How did it come about and how was it working with 22Bullets?
Fedde: “22bullets approached me with this wonderful idea it just needed some polishing and a bit of an extra hook. And some arranging, and a proper club mix. I think we delivered on both.”
IBN: The last months were absolutely complicated: how did Fedde Le Grand live during the Covid time?
Fedde: “I’m lucky to have my studio so I spent a lot of time there and tried to be creative on other things. With cooking, photography and I started a little take out restaurant with some friends. So I’m general I tried to keep my mind busy with creative things. That keeps me happy and healthy.”
IBN: After the Covid  do you think that there will be important changes for the music industry?
Fedde: “We’ll have to see. I could imagine that it’s going to take some time for the whole industry to get back to where it was. Although, I can also imagine that people will feel the need to party non stop. For myself I decided to find a better balance between work and private life and that is something I learned from this period.”
IBN: Fedde Le Grand & Ibiza: how is your relationship with the White island?
Fedde: “I feel it’s something that is mandatory, I can’t imagine another year without it, I want to return as an artist and a tourist, or the year is not complete. Once you fall in love with the island you will never want to let you go. There is something special and spiritual about it.”

IBN: Each artist has a particular anecdote about Ibiza. What’s yours?
Fedde: “Oef…. I have so many. The first time I came, one of the Mambo brothers picked me up and showed me around, I only to find out a few years later who he was. Or the villa I once stayed in that I’m pretty sure was used for adult films.
But I think my favourite memory is with Carl Cox, when I played the terrace at Space for him. And just being part of the family and hearing all the stories from the past.”
IBN:You are a famous DJ and producer: what advice would you give to a young person who wants to start doing this job?
Fedde: “Make sure you love the music not the fame. That will propel you forward and keep you motivated when it’s hard. It will keep you creative in all the facets that come with this job. And don’t be afraid to be yourself.”

IBN: Last: what are your upcoming projects?
Fedde: “I have a lot of productions ready. I haven’t had this much time in the studio for years, so expect lots of amazing music coming your way. From pop to club music. All musical deliciousness.” ?
Thanks Fedde!
