DEFECTED presents: “We dance as one live stream” on New year’s eve!

We Dance As One 3.0 will be live streamed across Defected’s YouTube, Facebook and Twitch platforms on Thursday 31 December, from 17.00 -1.00 GMT!

The line up includes Dom Dolla, Eats Everything, Gorgon City, Inner City (Live), Low Steppa, Roger Sanchez, Sam Divine and Sonny Fodera!

The organizers said:”Defected Virtual Festival presents the New Year’s Eve edition of We Dance As One, the final instalment in three-part live-streamed music event from Defected’s DJ Mag ‘Best of British’ Awardnominated virtual party.

The third instalment of We Dance As One will also offer a sneak peak into Defected’s brand new London HQ, where at least one of the artists will grace the decks in the brand-new media and content creation hub, due for official opening in 2021. A glimpse to the continual advance of the London label, this new space showcases Defected’s dedication to advancing their live stream output and virtual event capabilities during this time.
After the cancellation of Defected’s New Year’s Eve show at Printworks London, two acts will stream from the phenomenal venue, Solotoko founder Sonny Fodera and platinum-selling duo Gorgon City, who will be reunited for the first time since the pandemic began in March, previously live streaming from across the Atlantic. Also among the acts performing is legendary Detroit collective Inner City, streaming from Motor City venue Elektricity ahead of the release of joint Defected debut with Idris Elba ‘No More Looking Back’ in early 2021. Continuing the international affair, long-time friend of Defected Roger Sanchez will be streaming from Miami, while Australian hit-maker Dom Dolla will be playing from Melbourne, Australia.
Having fundraised for mental health charity Mind with the first event in October, the second and third instalments of We Dance As One are raising money for The Trussell Trust, a UK-based charity that supports a nationwide network of food banks, providing emergency food and support for people locked in poverty and working towards a hunger free future. Defected Chief Business Officer James Kirkham explains why this charity was chosen:
“We’re proudly supporting The Trussell Trust as our charity of choice for this month’s We Dance As One event. They’ve predicted a concerning 61% increase in food parcels that will be needed across the UK this winter. During the start of the pandemic around half of people who used a food bank had never needed one before. Quite simply, the hugely destructive effect on our hospitality and nightlife industry (among many others) has led to huge job losses meaning incredibly tough winters for many. We’re asking for people to give what they can in support of this cause.”
