Defected presents Faith fanzine!

Defected are proud to announce the relaunch of the Faith fanzine with its Autumn 2020 issue, in collaboration with its creators Terry Farley, Stuart Patterson and Dave Jarvis. A free fanzine for those into music, fashion and culture, Faith existed as a print mag for seven years from 1999 (a vintage year by all accounts), gathering a fierce cult following and spawning a notorious online forum that set “the agenda for the next decade of the Internet,” before relaunching in 2020. Staying true to Faith’s principles, the magazine will remain free (excl. P&P) and will be available to order from the D-Store, looking to educate a new generation of house fans on the history and culture of dance music, while championing rising stars of the scene.
After announcing the re-launch earlier this summer, the first issue of Faith’s new tenure pays homage to the hugely influential Danny Tenaglia, who features as the cover star for the first time. Inside the magazine, there is a full-length feature with Harry Romero and Danny Tenaglia in conversation. Additionally, Faith speaks to Broadway and Pose star Billy Porter on his experiences at NYC clubs of the 90’s, as well as Parisian ballroom icon Kiddy Smile. Interviews with notorious clubland pioneer Dave Beer and Ron Trent feature alongside rising stars of the scene Dee Diggs and Black Girl / White Girl. Faith also look back at Ron Hardy and the Music Box, Giles Smith recounts time spent with Mike Huckaby and the magazine pays tribute to Andrew Weatherall with a review of the final ‘A Love From Outer Space’. The Zine will include charts, tongue-in-cheek quizzes with everything house music, this is a publication made for the house nation, keeping the faith.
Across 24 print issues between 1999-2012, cover stars of Faith came in the form of Frankie Knuckles, Dennis Ferrer, DJ Harvey, Kerri Chandler, Joe Claussell, Derrick Carter and many more. In full solidarity, Defected will work with Farley, Patterson and Jarvis to resurrect the print mag while digitising all editions past, present and future – as well as expanding into a podcast series led by Patterson, plus merch and maybe even a few parties on the horizon.
Faith Autumn 2020 is now available to order free of charge on the D-Store (excl. P&P): https://defect.click/FaithAutumn2020
