Currently in Madrid, FITUR (the International Tourism Trade Fair) is being held, so we thought it was a good opportunity to also talk about the importance of tourism in Ibiza. The common question we always ask is: is a longer tourist season in Ibiza possible?
We say a resounding “yes” to this.
First of all, the weather in Ibiza during Autumn and Winter is still extremely pleasant and mild.
We have already said that Ibiza is a treasure to discover during the Winter months (read here).
The price of everything is much more appealing: the hotels, the apartments, car rental and the restaurants (especially for lunch) cost less than during the summer, so you’ll find your holiday is approximately 30-40% less expensive.
A longer tourist season would probably bring different tourists to the island (we imagine less clubbers and more families or people who simply want to rest), but this would still be a great result for Ibiza and its economy.
So the first and most important step is to solve the old problem of the lack of flights, (which we have already talked about it – read here).
Only once this is solved can we hope to have a longer tourist season in Ibiza and hopefully in 2016!
