A Night for the Sea is a special charity event taking place at Beachouse Ibiza on 12 July, from 7pm till midnight  with marine biologist and conservationist Manu San Félix.

The organisers said:” Beachouse Ibiza is partnering with the Vellmarí Association to present A Night for the Sea, a charitable evening of Mediterranean gastronomy, music and collective action, taking place on 12 July. Set on the shores of Playa d’en Bossa, where the sea has shaped the Beachouse experience for more than a decade, the event will raise funds to protect Posidonia oceanica, the marine plant that forms part of Ibiza and Formentera’s UNESCO World Heritage Site and helps create the crystal-clear waters the islands are known for.

Hosted beneath the stars and just metres from the sea, guests will enjoy a sharing menu celebrating island produce and the flavours of Ibiza, including Bluefin tuna belly carpaccio and Beachouse’s signature Wagyu, reflecting Beachouse’s ingredient-led approach to cooking and its enduring connection to the natural environment.

Marine biologist, conservationist and explorer Manu San Félix will present storytelling, photography and film documenting the waters between Ibiza and Formentera, alongside a photography exhibition created in collaboration with National Geographic. His work offers a rare glimpse into the extraordinary marine ecosystems beneath the surface of the Mediterranean and has helped shine a light on the importance of Posidonia, often described as the Mediterranean’s invisible forest. Alongside a charity raffle and book signing, live music and DJ performances will carry the evening from shared dining and storytelling into a celebration of community, culture and the Mediterranean.

Posidonia is one of the oldest living organisms on Earth. It produces oxygen, absorbs carbon dioxide, helps keep waters crystal clear and provides habitat for thousands of marine species, yet faces growing pressures from climate change, pollution, irresponsible anchoring and human activity.

“The Posidonia meadows between Ibiza and Formentera form part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site and are among the most important ecosystems in the Mediterranean,” says Manu San Félix. “They give us the crystal-clear waters that people travel from around the world to experience, yet they remain largely invisible and under threat. If we want future generations to enjoy the Ibiza we know and love, protecting Posidonia must become a shared responsibility.”

As part of Beachouse’s wider commitment to supporting the island’s natural environment, the venue will also launch a season-long awareness and fundraising initiative in partnership with Vellmarí.

“Beachouse has always been shaped by the sea,” says Sofija Mehta, Founder of Island Hospitality. “A Night for the Sea is an opportunity to celebrate that relationship while helping to protect one of the most important ecosystems in our islands. We hope it inspires people to see the Mediterranean not simply as a beautiful backdrop, but as a living ecosystem that needs our protection.”

Bringing together food, culture and conservation, the evening reflects Beachouse’s enduring connection to the sea and natural environment that defines Ibiza. All profits raised through the event will support ongoing Posidonia conservation, restoration and education initiatives across Ibiza and Formentera.
