On Sunday, February 22, Rec Club Napoli presents CONTRORA, an experience unfolding from afternoon into night, transforming Sunday into a time dedicated to encounter, discovery and connection.
Inspired by the “controra,” that suspended and dilated moment rooted in Mediterranean tradition, the event is conceived with the intention of bringing people together and offering a different way to experience Sunday — more conscious, immersive and participatory. CONTRORA develops as a continuous flow of activities from 2:00 PM to 1:00 AM, in a program that weaves together music, visual arts and entertainment culture.
The musical program will feature Octo Octa, Idriss D, Nicola Mazzetti, Domgreek, Fizya, Rubina and Salotto Italiano. Music will serve as the backbone of the entire day, guiding the audience through a sonic journey that gradually intensifies into the night.
Throughout the day, a Vinyl Shop area with listening stations and curated selections will be active, conceived as a space dedicated to vinyl culture and attentive listening.
The program also includes masterclasses, wine pairings and an ice show developed in collaboration with Don Julio, Ceres, Fontanelle, Refresco Ice, I Giardini di Marzo, Apulian, Nazionale – Spirito Italiano and Santa Spina. The bar becomes a site of experimentation and storytelling, through guided tastings and performative experiences.
Two exhibitions will accompany the entire event: “Ergastērion” by Antonio Catalani, curated by Gianluca Marziani, and “Ritual” by Cellophane, inserted into an organic dialogue between artwork, space and audience.
During CONTRORA, Art Dates will also be inaugurated — a format dedicated to Live Art Experiences involving more than fifteen creatives in live performances, including live painting, ceramics, illustration and other practices, in direct interaction with the audience, transforming the club into an open and continuously evolving laboratory.
CONTRORA thus aligns with the vision of Rec Club Napoli as a dynamic cultural space, capable of connecting communities, languages and generations. Not simply an event, but a shared time: an invitation to slow down, come together and experience space as a collective exchange.”
