Lío Ibiza and Cathy Guetta present Cathylicious.

Ibiza 2017′ here you have some big news.

Lío Ibiza and Cathy Guetta present Cathylicious.

The event will take place Every Wednesday from June 16th to September 20th.

pacha Media team said:”Cathy Guetta started her famous FMIF nights in Pacha Ibiza at the turn of the millennium. They were an immediate hit. CG’s work through her FMIF nights brought a touch of innovation, modernity, and sophistication to the club, and, with a true sense of showmanship, she ushered glamour and drama into the shows, decoration and staging.

Jet-setters began to flock here from every corner of the world for one single excellent reason: to come and admire Cathy Guetta’s artistic prowess on an electro night, a totally new phenomenon in Ibiza.

The incredibly original FMIF nights were an international success right from the word go, and in the last 15 years, they went from strength to strength. It was down to Cathy Guetta’s ingenuity, perfectionism and creativity, all her elegance and luxury; not to forget, of course, David Guetta’s musical talent.

It was a fabulous story, both personal and professional, that ended 2 years ago when the couple split up: CG is now no longer the artistic director, the creativity and inspiration behind the FMIF nights.

Her divorce allows her to take a step back from the action. She travels regularly, staying in tune with the party scene and the current musical trends throughout the world.

Over the course of her many trips, CG witnesses the dazzling progress of urban music, somewhat overshadowed by the tidal wave of electronic music and its protagonists, the DJs, electronic music producers who take centre stage with their radio hits.

CG’s musical culture started just as the disco years were coming to an end, but what really gets her going on the dance floor is funk, R&B and hip-hop…

When CG became the host for the legendary Parisian nightclub, LES BAINS DOUCHES, known by all the international film and music stars, she was quick to start a hip-hop/R&B and funk night called SUPAFLY.

Every Wednesday night for 6 years, SUPAFLY was on; it was THE place to be in Paris for stars such as Jay Z and Beyoncé, P. Diddy, Mary J Blige, JLO, Lenny Kravitz, and so on… Along with all the fashionable top models and actors of the time: Gisèle, Carmen Kass, Naomi Campbell, Di Caprio, Vincent Cassel and many, many others who were into black music.

Today, urban music, also known as “open format” music, is once again gaining considerable ground in the clubbing scenes of Paris, London, Milan, Madrid, Dubai, NYC, LA, Miami, Las Vegas; on top of this, the resident star DJs are beginning to incorporate hip-hop into their electronic music sets… David Guetta, Calvin Harris, DJ Snake, Major Lazer…

The popularity of urban music just keeps on rising, with the worldwide popularity of artists such as Drake, Rihanna, Nicky Minaj, and also with the return of funk and the international success of Pharrell, Daft Punk and recently Bruno Mars and The Weeknd.
There’s also a big new R&B movement, Justin Bieber/DJ Snake (main stage  at the most recent Coachella festival in California), The Chainsmokers…

Not to mention a whole slew of new hip-hop artists, Travis Scott, Desiigner, Future, G-Eazy, El Gucci, Migos, Rae Sremmurd (soundtrack to Mannequin Challenge), whose incredible popularity puts them in the advertising spotlight for luxury brands: Louis Vuitton/Supreme co-branding, for instance, springs to mind.

These artists have truly become heroes for today’s youth, who listen to their songs on repeat and proclaim themselves fans.
They no longer sing about the ghetto, as their predecessors did, but rather about their feelings and daily life.

With all her charisma and her lengthy experience at the cutting edge of the music scene, there can be no better host than the visionary CG to welcome you to a weekly night of hip-hop, R&B and funk.”

So save the dates and prepare yourself for many special Wednesdays at Lio ibiza.
